Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Staines-upon-Thames, MRH is the UK’s leading independent forecourt operator, serving 2.5 million customers every week at 491 sites across the country. Through partnerships with petrol companies such as BP, Shell and Esso, MRH sells up to 2.5 billion litres of fuel annually in the UK.

The Challenge

An assessment of MRH’s IT environment highlighted a lack of central data source and management reporting capability, forcing local offices to provide their own solutions.  We were engaged to develop accurate business reporting capability to support MRH’s growth plans.

The Solution
1
Tactical Enhancements
Replacement of manual, excel-based reporting and distribution:
- Ran RFP to select appropriate reporting tool to meet immediate needs
- Selected and implemented Qlik, replicating existing reports within the tool
- Delivered fully automated reporting process with full data manipulation capability
2
Strategic Reporting
From static to strategic reporting:
- Built data repository to enable strategic reporting
- Delivered reporting and MI capability to support day to day business management
3
Enhanced MI
Adoption of best in class reporting:
Decision to move to Power BI to maximise adoption of Microsoft suite
Development of BI data warehouse to include data feeds from franchise partners
Enhanced MI capability to drive
business growth
