Drax Power: Acquisition Support and Systems Integration
Leading Resolutions was asked to support Drax with an acquisition and subsequent transition/integration of Scottish Power assets.

Drax Group plc is a British electrical power generation company. The Group is made up of a number of upstream and downstream enterprises. The main downstream businesses are based in the UK and include Drax Power Limited, which runs Europe’s biggest biomass-fuelled power station.
Leading Resolutions was asked to support Drax with an acquisition and subsequent transition and integration of Scottish Power assets.
The initial engagement around the transition/integration started with us being asked to provide early advice on strategy and TSA. We were then engaged to provide a team to support the cut-over phase from the IT side. The team included a lead, technical support and project managers.
The team had to work to very tight timelines with due diligence in October and team deployed in October to manage the programme. Overall this meant that everything had to be done in 10 weeks.
There were two challenging early deliverables to move everything from Scottish Power to Drax systems:
Four large power stations couldn’t operate on Scottish Power after 31st December and so must be moved quickly to Drax.
All email addresses had to switch at the same time for everyone who transitioned.
In order to work to such a tight deadline, the team worked over the New Year period to switch over and go live on 1st January.
All 4 trading sites migrated on schedule. Due to such hard work and success in completing the project to the deadline, we were retained to programme manage the transition phase.
