Project Management Office


The business services travel provider Travelport (formerly Galileo) wanted to improve the performance of its IT projects in the interests of improved Change Management both current and in the future. They commissioned Leading Resolutions to put a re-shaped Project Management Office in place.


Leading Resolutions established a fresh approach to Programme Governance implementing the change in two stages - a health check to identify and benchmark process gaps followed by a full scale transition plan. Our experienced Project Managers worked alongside Travelport to introduce changes to the build process, manage the talent recruitment, select the tools and manage key internal stakeholders. Within 6 months, Leading Resolutions had embedded a full PRINCE 2 based Project Management Lifecycle Methodology.


The renewed and holistic focus on process, technology and product enabled improved consistency in delivery, greater transparency over operational costs and better project capability, in turn creating a strong foundation for future change. In addition, the solution successfully aligned previously disparate programme management teams in Europe and the USA, increasing programme synergies and improving stakeholder and sponsor satisfaction.

Leading Resolutions introduced valuable processes that will lead to far greater accountability. The new PMO fundamentally improved the way we managed projects, boosting sponsorship and ownership and giving projects far better visibility at senior level. Leading Resolutions developed a sound, strategic approach that helped us deliver more profitable products to market more quickly. In short we did fewer bigger things better.
