An international multi-media business, asked Leading Resolutions to develop a transformational programme that would deliver a consolidated framework of business applications and supporting infrastructure. Rapid growth and multiple acquisitions meant that new risks and exposures needed to be addressed in the context of both the corporate and the regional picture.

Approach

Leading Resolutions embarked on a rapid improvement programme with an initial 3 week pan European review to identify key business priorities, challenges around support and the ability to deliver quick wins. Leading Resolutions deployed an experienced Interim Head of IT for Europe and a seasoned Programme Manager to take immediate control and establish a firm base to support continuing expansion. A Programme Management Office was set up to review the financial and technical feasibility of over 200 European projects and to implement a robust project management framework underpinned by appropriate business application and back-office solutions, coupled with an infrastructure blueprint. Re-establishing relationships with suppliers, particularly internal ones based in the US, was critical to successful delivery and enabled joint working on a number of fronts including business continuity and disaster recovery.

Results

A 2 year programme was condensed into 6 months achieved through Rapid Deployment methodology.The renewed IT organisation successfully blended local IT support with the introduction of corporate standards, best practice and increased capability leaving the company with a flexible, highly capable IT team able to deliver technically advanced solutions in much shorter timescales, at lower cost and with total confidence. Supplier management was improved and the new governance structure gave transparency to the opportunities and managed risk of investment decisions.
