Data Centre Hosting Partner Selection

Mothercare engaged Leading Resolutions to support the final stages of vendor selection for a data centre hosting partner who could provide a managed service with full disaster recovery capability for its core systems.

Leading Resolutions established the selection criteria with Mothercare, which included: business continuity capability, supporting AS400s in a high availability, dual-data centre environment, availability of data centres, network latency and the application and storage management. As a minimum the chosen datacentre had to meet Tier 3 standards.

Leading Resolutions led the final selection process through a Six Sigma based evaluation methodology scoring each potential partner in a number of areas including strength of supplier interviews, site visits and data centre audits. Customer references were also taken. The final report, complete with technical and commercial findings and recommendations, was provided to Mothercare to guide final selection.

Mothercare accepted Leading Resolutions’ recommendations and went ahead with the transition of services to the selected partner, consolidating services into a dual data centre and benefitting from full disaster recovery capability for its core systems.

Leading Resolutions gave our vendor selection process structure and method. They were thorough and rigorous in their evaluation of our shortlisted suppliers, which convinced us that our final choice was the right one.
